How often to shampoo natural Black hair should result in a simple answer but given the diversity of Afri-Ethnic hair, the solution often varies.

We've been receiving a lot of questions from the naaniFAM about which shampoo variety they should select.  Choosing a shampoo is mainly a decision based on personal preference as most of us go for aroma rather than content.

Generally, shampoos are 80-90% water and contain 2-8% detergents and foaming agents and about 1% fragrance and preservatives.  Based on these numbers alone it's not easy to choose a good shampoo from a bad one.  In the end, it often comes down to personal preferences such as fragrance and foaming ability.
